The story

Back in a YST shirt — and a final that got away.

Avyaan pulled on a Youth Sports Trust jersey for the first time in a long while, alongside his first DPDL friends. The group games went his way — a comfortable 6–1 and then a 4–2, with him scoring in both, even as he was still finding his coordination with a new set of boys.

The final was a different test. Avyaan put them ahead 1–0 — but as the sun turned fierce, the defending and tackling fell away against a better-drilled BYFL side, and the lead turned into a 1–4 defeat. He played and fought well, and was disappointed at the end — but it was a joy to watch him play.
